The Co-operative Travel Consortium is to host more than 300 delegates at its annual conference on board MSC Virtuosa this week.
The conference, which runs from September 26 to 30, is being held on a five-day cruise around the Irish coastline and is themed ‘Making Things Happen’.
The conference is hosting workshops and panel discussions as well as business updates from Co-op Travel.
Speakers at this year’s event include Barry Gooch, chairman of anti fraud group Profit, who will lead a workshop on ways to help travel organisations spot an economic or cybercrime before it happens.
Co-op Travel, part of The Midcounties Co-operative, has 71 high street shops, and more than 145 homeworkers, known as Personal Travel Agents, and tour operator Co-op Holidays.
Alison Holmes, Co-op Travel head of retailing, said: “Our conferences are always a fun yet productive few days, and this year is set to be bigger than ever.
She said the conference would be “packed” with workshops, panels, keynote speakers and supplier insights, adding: “We look forward to coming together to help gather ideas and drive momentum for growth throughout this next quarter and into 2024.”
Co-op Travel chief operating officer Claire Evans said: “Our consortium members are based all over the UK, so it’s a brilliant opportunity to get everyone in one place to share learnings and for members to benefit from the strength and support that being part of our consortium brings.”
Headline sponsors at the conference include Co-op Holidays, Disney Destinations International, and Do Something Different.
