Exodus Travels has introduced a walking tour which showcases a rewilding project being carried out by the operator.
The Rewilding in the Italian Apennines tour visits an area Exodus is rewilding in partnership with Rewilding Europe through the Nature and Carbon Corridors project.
Rewilding is the process of restoring natural ecosystems and biodiversity in order to encourage wildlife and combat climate change.
Exodus said the six-day guided walking tour would allow guests “to see first-hand the benefits and impact of rewilding, and the importance of using wildlife corridors to connect protected areas”.
The region is home to wildlife including chamois, deer, wolves and golden eagles, as well as the rare Marsican brown bear.
Exodus Travels launched its Planet Promise and announced the new partnership with Rewilding Europe in January as part of its commitment to significantly reduce its carbon emissions, support the restoration of nature, and collaborate with the wider sector to find climate solutions.
For every customer who books with Exodus Travels, regardless of the destination, 100 sq. metres of land in the Italian Apennines will be rewilded.
