Explore promotes £23 deposits for 2023 during cost-of-living crisis

Explore Worldwide has brought out deposits of £23 for 2023 tours to allow holidaymakers to book without a big up front payment during the cost-of-living crisis.

The deposit is only available until September 23 but allows clients to book one of hundreds of adventure trips on sale for next year at today’s prices for £23 per person.

The trip can then be confirmed at today’s prices with a guarantee no additional surcharges will be added at a later date, said the operator.

The full balance must then be paid 60 days prior to departure. The deposit applies to the tour price only and does not apply to the flight or extras such as additional hotel nights and transfers.

The move comes as holiday prices continue to surge while consumers face large hikes in their household bills.

Global director of sales Ben Ittensohn said: “We’ve seen such a tremendous return for adventure travel this year, and autumn is looking incredibly busy with people back out exploring all over the world.

“But there is a lot of uncertainty out there at the moment, and we want to enable travellers to get their 2023 adventure in the diary now without a big upfront payment, and safe in the knowledge that we will hold the current price for them.”

Explore’s programme offers a range of trips, from camping out under the stars in Jordan’s Wadi Rum desert to trying out street food in Mexico, cycling through Vietnamese rice paddies and hiking in Tuscany.
