Lisa Balsom, Sunlife’s director of sales and marketing for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia, said she was delighted about Lewis’ appointment, adding: “She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Indian Ocean to the role and will be able to help us reach key target UK consumers through trade relations.”

Sunlife, formerly called Sun Resorts, receives 90% of its business through tour operators and travel agents. Its property portfolio consists of five-star Sugar Beach, five-star Long Beach, four-star La Pirogue and four-star Ambre, as well as Île aux Cerfs Leisure Island & Golf Club.

Lewis will be responsible for implementing effective sales strategies, driving revenue growth and establishing strong relationships with clients and partners.

She said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Sunlife team and be part of growing the success of Sunlife and its resorts.

“During my time as a product manager for the Indian Ocean, I grew an in-depth knowledge of the Mauritian tourism market and have a proven track record of identifying the commercial tools best used to grow room nights and therefore maximise revenue with long-term sustained success.”
