HolidayTaxis Group chief executive Ian Coyle has left the business after 14 years.
Coyle said his departure had been amicable and he was now taking six months off to spend time with family and consider his next venture, with plans to stay in the B2B travel sector.
He said: “I exited the business at the end of December. I have worked in B2B travel all my life and I will definitely come back.”
Although Coyle said he had no “immediate plans”, he was hopeful to be back working in the trade by the end of the year.
“My departure was amicable, and now I’m going to spend a bit of time with the grandkids and have time off, which will help decide the next steps to go back into the B2B sector and find investment for the next venture,” he said.
Coyle was global sales director before being made managing director of the transfers firm in 2017 and then chief executive in 2018, and stayed on with the business after it was sold to Hotelbeds at the end of 2018.
“We knitted two transfer businesses together and retained two brands. I had the best team I’ve ever had and I’m leaving at a time of record results, having recovered from the Covid pandemic. If there is a good time to go, it is now,” he said.
Prior to the career at HolidayTaxis, Coyle worked on the launch of activity and tour provider DoSomethingDifferent.com, and before that worked at accommodation only specialist Youtravel.com and car rental firm Holiday Autos.
