JG Travel Group brands unveil Game of Thrones themed tours

The JG Travel Group has launched two Game of Thrones breaks, which visit the new Game of Thrones Studio Tour attraction and key filming locations in Northern Ireland.

The operator’s Just Go! Holidays brand offers four-day breaks by air, while National Holidays features four-day options by coach.

The new Game of Thrones Studio Tour opens on Friday (February 4) at the Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, giving fans the chance to see sets, costumes and props from the popular fantasy TV series.

The tour of filming locations along the Antrim Coast visits the quarry that was a backdrop for Castle Black and The Wall, and the town of Carnlough which doubled as Braavos.

Matt Herbert, sales and yield director at The JG Travel Group, said: “The Game of Thrones series and its many filming locations have been a key driver in generating demand to visit Northern Ireland for some time now.

“I have absolutely no doubt that the opening of this new attraction will give many customers even more reason to make the trip, be it for the first time or a returning visit.

“I’d urge agents to ensure they are promoting our packages early to encourage bookings from fans of the show who are wanting to experience it.

“We are currently working on our trade marketing plans in conjunction with Tourism Ireland and hope to have something exciting to share soon.”

The four-day coach break with National Holidays costs from £399, including coach travel, ferry crossings, three nights’ half-board accommodation in Belfast, a self-guided visit to the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, guided filming locations tour by coach, an excursion to the Giant’s Causeway and free time in Belfast.

There are departures from May 11 to October 19 from selected pick-up points in the northeast, northwest, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

Just Go! Holidays offers a four-day holiday from £499, based on two sharing, which includes flights, transfers, three nights’ half-board accommodation in Belfast, the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, a coach tour of the filming locations, excursion to the Giant’s Causeway and free time in Belfast.
