The Latin American Travel Association (Lata) has announced adventure travel filmmaker James Levelle will be a speaker at Lata Expo (June 24-26).
He will appear at the Windsor event alongside moderator, travel expert and broadcaster, Simon Calder.
Levelle hitchhiked for more than 3,700 miles through South America with no cash, no credit cards and no mobile phone for his documentary Free-Ride.
He will share stories from his adventure as well as other experiences as a filmmaker and adventurer.
Calder will host a variety of keynote speakers and panels during Lata Expo as challenges and opportunities are debated.

Comment: New Lata Expo format will place even greater spotlight on region
Lata Expo is become Europe’s largest B2B show focused on travel in Latin America. For 2024, it has a new format and will be a fully hosted residential conference at The Beaumont Estate, Windsor.
Exhibitors from across the region will include tourism boards, tour operators, accommodation providers, lodges, cruise and airlines, as well as travel trade and media from the UK and Europe.
PromPeru is the headline destination for the event and will provide a taste of Peru through its coffee and refreshments.
Martin Johnson, Lata chairman, said: “We are thrilled to have James Levelle join us at Lata Expo to recount his exciting adventures through South America and share his passion for the region, alongside our expert moderator, Simon Calder.
“Likewise, we are delighted to welcome PromPeru as headline destination, enabling our delegates to expand their knowledge of this fascinating country, outside of the highlights such as Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, and enjoy the unique flavours of the country.”
Further guest speakers and conference programme details are to be announced.
Lata Expo will also feature a gala dinner incorporating the Lata Achievement Awards.
Following the Expo, the second edition of the Lata Roadshow will take place on July 1-3 to provide agents with key contacts, information and the tools needed to sell the region’s destinations.
Along with food, drink and Latin American entertainment, the events will feature a prize draw.
