Miles Morgan Travel is predicting a record 2023 and recruiting for two new senior roles as it targets further growth.
The 19-strong agency chain said it was preparing for high demand to continue in the new year as clients returned to book after taking a break from travel during Covid.
It has enjoyed unprecedented trading levels over the last five months, including its best November to date.
Speaking at a three-day training event hosted by the agency for more than 100 staff with 36 suppliers, managing director Mandy Shillito said the chain was reaping the benefits of its affluent and retired customer base.

She said: “Our customers are time-rich and saved money during Covid. They were more cautious during Covid and now we have the reverse of that.
“They have been waiting for this; they want to travel and enjoy life. We are seeing a lot of bigger bookings.”
The agency has enjoyed strong short-haul and long-haul sales and the return of escorted touring and bucket-list bookings.
It also reported more further out bookings and new customers.
“We are seeing advance registrations for big trips in 2024 such as Canada, safaris and multigenerational trips,” said Shillito, adding: “We’re getting lots of newvcustomers. People like the face-to-face service.”
The agency has not yet revealed details of its post-Christmas activity, but will continue to promote its brand on regional television.
Shillito said: “We won’t take anything for granted, but we’re expecting a record 2023 and that’s down to the team and their work through Covid. Our reputation on the high street is even stronger now. People know we’ll be there through thick and thin as we were through the pandemic.”
The growth predictions have prompted the agency to recruit for two new senior roles; a commercial manager to ensure all suppliers receive “quality service” and a digital manager to improve the company’s online performance.
The agency now has about 50 preferred partners. “We’ve taken on about six partners this year to fill gaps in our portfolio,” added Shillito, who will continue to oversee commercial and handle key accounts.
