National Holidays is urging agents in the northeast to promote its new coach and hotel package aimed at clients heading to London for the League One play-off final.
The Cheltenham-based tour operator launched the package last night, after Sunderland FC secured a place in the play-off final at Wembley on May 21. Agents can promote the trip to fans who have secured tickets for the match.
The package costs from £79 and includes return coach travel from Sunderland and the surrounding areas, one night’s accommodation, and transfers between the hotel and Wembley. A match ticket is not included.
National Holidays said bookings have flooded in this morning, with the Sunderland at Wembley package accounting for more than 40% of bookings made before midday today (May 10).
Claire Dutton, trade sales manager at National Holidays, said: “We knew that if Sunderland made it through that demand from agents would be high and we had everything in place should the result go the right way.
“For Sunderland fans this is a huge event and our hotel and coach packages take all the hassle out of getting down to London. We have secured good availability and agents in the catchment area need to ensure they are promoting this on social [media] right now.”
