National Travel Agent Day to take place in September

Important: Following feedback from the trade, the 2023 National Travel Agent Day will now take place as planned on July 22 with the event moving to September from 2024. This information supersedes the content of this article.

This year’s National Travel Agent Day will take place on Friday, September 8, Intrepid Travel has announced.

Now in its fourth year, the event was created by the tour operator to celebrate, support, and recognise the work of travel agents.

Intrepid’s head of business development and partnerships Joanna Reeve said the date has this year been moved back from late July, when it has traditionally taken place, to September to allow more industry members to get involved.

“National Travel Agent Day was born during the pandemic to bring the industry together and celebrate all the work our agent partners do,” said Reeve.

“While the last Friday before the school holidays worked for the past few years, it doesn’t as much now with people away on holidays. We hope that by moving the date, it will become accessible for more suppliers and agents.”

Intrepid is planning a range of discounts, giveaways and events to mark the event, with details to be announced soon.

Reeve added: “While Intrepid founded National Travel Agent Day, it’s not ‘our’ day. We love to see trade support and collaboration and for businesses to celebrate in whatever way they want.”
