Riviera Travel adds new ship to 2022 cruise programme

Riviera Travel has included a new ocean ship and a range of maiden itineraries in its 2022 ocean cruise programme.

Three itineraries on Nicko Cruises’ 190-passenger World Voyager have been made available from September next year.

On a France, Spain and Portugal sailing, departing on September 19, calls include Guernsey, Belle Île and Spain’s Basque Country, as well as harbourside cities in Portugal.

Excursions include wine tasting in ‘Route des Châteaux’ and cultural tours of San Sebastián, Santander, Porto and Lisbon. Riviera said the ship will dock at smaller ports and harbours “to ensure guests can step off the ship and into the heart of their destination”.

UK cruising: who is sailing where this summer?

A British Isles cruise is due to set sail from Portsmouth on September 9 and head for Scotland and Ireland. Stops will include Aberdeen, Inverness, the Orkney archipelago and Isle of Lewis & Harris. The ship will also call at Belfast and Dublin, before a final stop in the Isles of Scilly.

And a Morocco, Madeira and Canary Islands cruise will feature tours of all three destinations, including some “set away from the main tourist destinations, so guests can explore more of the local regions”. It will depart on March 24 and April 10.

World Voyager has 100 cabins, all with balconies or sea-view windows. It also features an on-board fitness suite, sauna, spa and pool terrace. More than 100 crew will be on-board and all meals, excursions and flights are included.

Prices start from £2,999 for 11 days.

Riviera has already put five Adriatic yacht itineraries on sale for 2022, departing from May to October.

Will Sarson, head of strategy and innovation, said: “With cruise enthusiasts counting down to the time they can step on-board a ship, we’re excited to offer this great variety, and have something to suit all tastes and budgets.

“Whether you’re looking to stay closer to home and discover more of what’s on our doorsteps in the UK, or explore a wealth of culture and traditions in mainland Europe, now is the perfect time to look forward to your 2022 getaway.”
