Sicilian location for White Lotus among new Inntravel options

The Sicilian coastal town of Cefalù – a backdrop for several scenes in the second series of TV drama The White Lotus – is featured on a new tour from Inntravel.

Called The Mountains of Sicily with Cefalù, the holiday is featured in the operator’s newly released programme of 290 self-guided itineraries for spring and summer 2023.

As well as Cefalù, the nine-day walking tour includes Gangi, the medieval town of Geraci Siculo, Madonie Natural Park and Castelbuono.

Other new tours include Journey by Rail Along the Camino de Santiago, which is described as “a great option for people who don’t have the fitness or 30 days spare to do this section of the journey on foot”.

Travelling by train, the nine-night trip starts in the Biscay hills, passes through the central region plains, and ends in the Unesco World Heritage city of Santiago de Compostela.

Another new rail option is called From the French to the Italian Riviera – A Touring Holiday by Rail.

It follows the French and Italian coastline, from the Cote d’Azur to Genoa and Monterosso, gateway to the Cinque Terre.

Also new is A Bavarian Wander – Southern Germany’s Lakes, Castles & Mountains, a seven-night walking holiday based in the Biohotel Eggensberger in Hopfen-am-See.

The Hotelplan UK-owned operator has been calculating the carbon footprint of all its holidays and is due to publish the findings in early 2023.
