Villa specialist Solmar Villas has added the Peloponnese to its list of holiday destinations – and increased its number of James Villas’ cancelled properties to more than 450.
The Burton-on-Trent-based company is now heading into 2024 with a record 2,000-plus villas across Europe and Florida on its books.
European managed vacations business Awaze announced the closure of its James Villas brand on October 30.
Within days, Solmar had secured more than 200 of James Villas’ cancelled properties across Europe and, by November 10, that total had risen to 300.
The family-run company said this month had been “unexpectedly busy” as it has been supporting travel agents and customers affected by the shock closure of the James Villas brand.
Meanwhile, it has added 12 exclusive villas in the southern Greek province of the Peloponnese for 2024.
Julie Blake, chief executive of Solmar Villa Holidays, said: “The Peloponnese is a truly magical place with its striking scenery, mountain-backed beaches, ancient sites, medieval castles, beautiful views, sandy beaches, spectacular vineyards, exquisite cuisine and of course its rich history as home of the Olympic Games.
“It’s an absolute gem – a must-add to everyone’s travel bucket-list – and we are really excited to have added villas in this unique destination to our ever-growing portfolio.”
Initially, Solmar will be offering villas in the Kardamili, Methoni and Stoupa areas of the province, on the southern tip of mainland Greece, but more properties will be added in the new year.
The Peloponnese joins the Ionian coast, Kos and Ibiza as new destinations recently added to Solmar’s European portfolio.
