TourRadar unveils adventure booking platform

Vienna-based online marketplace for multi-day tours, TourRadar, has launched a B2B platform that allows agents to earn commission from bookings.

It announced its move into B2B distribution with the Adventure Booking Platform during its recent online event called Adventure Together.

TourRadar is connected to more than 2,500 operators whose tours can be booked directly by consumers through its B2C marketplace or now through travel agencies and other trade distribution channels.

Travis Pittman, chief executive and co-founder, said: “Our goal is to rebuild travel in a better way in the post-pandemic world.

“We want more people to get out of the main tourist hubs and experience themselves and the planet on a new more meaningful and sustainable level. There is no better solution to this than organised adventures.”

The company is using the term ‘adventures’ to encompass multi-day tours that can range from a food and wine tour in Tuscany to an Everest base camp trek.

It says more than 50,000 multi-day adventures are available on its Adventure Booking Platform.

The two-day Adventure Together event (November 9-10) featured sessions about the new platform; advice about tours and online marketing; diversity, equity and inclusion in the travel industry; and sustainability.

As well as speakers from TourRadar, the event heard from industry bosses such as Brian Young, EMEA managing director at G Adventures and chairman of the Association of Touring & Adventure Suppliers (Atas); Michael Edwards, managing director at Explore Worldwide; Adam Armstrong, global chief executive of Contiki; Kasia Morgan, head of sustainability and community at Exodus Travels; and Jeremy Sampson, chair at the Future of Tourism Coalition and chief executive of The Travel Foundation.
