Travel recruitment rebounds in May after Easter dip

The number of new travel job vacancies rose by 131% last month, compared to April, according to figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.

May’s total was the highest since January and is 2% ahead of the pre-pandemic month of May 2019.

Meanwhile, the number of new candidates searching for new travel jobs jumped by 24% month-on-month – and was up 2% from May 2022.

C&M said last month’s rise was a “welcome” rebound from the fall seen in April.

There was a 6% rise in the number of people being placed in new jobs in travel.

But the number remained low compared to previous Mays, with a drop of 67% from the record-high month of May 2022 and 27% behind May 2019.

Barbara Kolosinska, managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “After a fall in activity around the Easter holidays, we’re very pleased to see a big rebound in recruitment in May.

“In particular, it’s great to see so many new travel jobs being made available.

“We’re seeing more new roles being created than before the pandemic and, with salaries continuing to rise, this is further evidence that there are some truly fantastic opportunities currently out there for the right candidates.”

All figures are drawn from the month’s new vacancies advertised with C&M Travel Recruitment.
