Virgin Voyages bolsters and restructures sales team

Virgin Voyages has appointed Gold Medal’s Gemma Wilks to business development executive amid a sales team restructure.

In her new role, Wilks, who previously held the role of trade partnership manager at Gold Medal, is responsible for “supporting, training and motivating” agents in the south of the UK, Virgin Voyages said.

Her appointment brings the cruise line’s UK sales team to 17 people.

Meanwhile, former business development manager for the south Jack Atherton has been promoted to sales manager, and Jenny Lyons has moved into the newly-created role of field sales manager, leading a team of three business development managers.

Vice-president international sales and marketing Shane Lewis-Riley said: “I am incredibly excited to welcome Gemma to the Virgin Voyages family.

“Every new appointment takes our team to the next level and Gemma is no exception. We know First Mates [agents] love her as much as we do.

“I am also delighted to see progression in our team as Jack is promoted to sales manager. Jack is a sales rockstar and has continually exceeded my expectations.

“Finally, Jenny moves into a new role she has helped create. This role will maximise Jenny’s experience, ensuring our team and First Mates have the tools they need to exceed their goals.”
