WeTravel revamps training for agents to boost group travel sales

Travel management platform WeTravel has revamped and enhanced its training to help agents selling tours and group travel.

The new-look WeTravel Academy has seen the addition of courses in sectors such as sustainable travel, adventure travel and wellness travel, as well as a course about how to target Gen Y and Z travellers.

As well as travel agencies, the courses can cater to those working in tour operators and destination management companies (DMCs).

Since its launch in December 2021, the academy has featured webinars, workshops, courses, blogs and downloadable guides, created with industry experts, providing information and tools free of charge.

More than 500 pieces of multi-day, group travel-specific content are available across 12 topics.

In 2022, the academy launched of the Women+ in Travel section, and this year has seen another section added to support product managers, destination managers and product marketers through each stage of the product development process.

Kasi McGurk, WeTravel communications and marketing manager, said: “The enhanced WeTravel Academy underscores our commitment to providing top-tier resources to ensure travel professionals have access to the most relevant and up-to-date content.

“WeTravel Academy’s new design is a direct response to the growing needs of travel professionals who are looking for targeted, high-quality resources.

“We know the industry is constantly changing…and our academy resources will change, too, so every multi-day, group travel professional can use the resources to professionally grow and, in turn, grow the industry.”
