African expansion outlined by Newmarket Holidays

Madagascar and Kenya are featured among 18 new escorted tours added by Newmarket Holidays to its 2022 worldwide programme.

African itineraries have been boosted following the success of its range of safaris.

The operator has added four new options, including ‘Madagascar – Red Island Wonders’ and ‘On Safari in Kenya’, as well as additional South African safaris.

A range of US tours have been added as well as a Highlands and Hebrides itinerary in the UK.

Head of trade sales Richard Forde said: “Every year it is important to review the programme and ensure we are at the forefront of consumer trends for new destinations.

“This year, more than ever we believe customers will be looking to book a special trip having had time to plan and reflect on their wish-lists.

“Of course, as well as adding new destinations, we are always evolving the rest of the programme, such as our new South American Explorer tour as well as additional European itineraries like our new Iceland and Greece tours.

“Trade sales have been particularly strong across our African range, so we really saw this as an area to focus on for 2022 and 2023.

“With the expected removal of testing requirements we also predict a rise in European holidays for 2022 as customers build their confidence in being able to travel easily again without the need for expensive testing.”

The escorted tours specialist has been operating throughout the pandemic and took almost 8,000 customers on holiday in 2021.
