Brittany Ferries has confirmed a full return to service this summer after two years of Covid-19 disruption.
The resumption covers ships like Bretagne, the re-start of services from Plymouth and Poole and an increase in the number of ferries sailing between Ireland and France.
Additionally, the company’s first LNG-powered vessel Salamanca will enter service between Portsmouth and Bilbao on March 27.
Bretagne will serve the Portsmouth–St Malo route from March 26 after almost 18 months out of service.
Barfleur, which was laid up for almost two years during the crisis, restarts sailings on the Poole-Cherbourg route on April 4 after a period serving freight between Portsmouth and Caen.
Flagship Pont-Aven will resume departures from Plymouth to Santander twice week and to Roscoff from March 26. Armorique will also serve Roscoff daily from March 28.
Pont-Aven will also operate the Cork-Roscoff route with two return services a week.
Chief executive Christophe Mathieu said: “We are delighted to confirm our ships and schedules for the summer season, which will bring renewed optimism and reassurance to staff, customers and port partners.
“The return of favourites like Bretagne at the end of March, coincide with the arrival of our first LNG-powered vessel Salamanca.
“She is a symbol of our commitment to our customers, our routes and to a more sustainable future. Three sister ships will join her in the years ahead, as fleet renewal gains pace.”
