Carnival Cruise Line claims to be the first in the US to have restarted its entire fleet of ships.
Carnival Splendor was the 23rd ship to return to service after the pandemic shut down services with the start of sailings to Alaska from Seattle.
The company started the resumption of cruising from the US last July. Carnival has completed its full fleet return in ten months with operations from 12 US homeports.
Additional seasonal service from Norfolk, Virginia and New York City start this month and in June respectively.
Carnival Splendor’s summer itineraries to Alaska are part of a three-ship deployment, along with Carnival Spirit from Seattle and Carnival Miracle from San Francisco.
The Carnival Splendor departure is one of 49 cruises to Alaska. Destinations include Ketchikan; Sitka; Skagway; Icy Strait Point; Victoria, British Columbia and cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord.

“We are especially excited to expand our Alaska program this season with three ships bringing more than 100,000 guests – including more than 6,000 this week – from Seattle and San Francisco to awe-inspiring Alaska ports.”
