Former Austravel general manager Karen Joyce is joining luxury global travel agency network Virtuoso as London-based EMEA general manager.
She takes up the role on July 1 overseeing a region the US group entered in 2014.
Virtuoso now has more than 90 travel agency member locations in 24 countries in the region.
Joyce has been general manager of operators AOT/ATS Pacific New Zealand since 2018.
Prior to this she headed Austravel selling travel from the UK to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Virtuoso said: “In both roles, she was responsible for creating and executing strategies that maximised profitability and brand resonance while also delivering high levels of service to both travel advisors and consumers alike, all areas of focus for her new role with Virtuoso.”
She will report to senior vice president of global operations Michael Londregan alongside new Latin America and Caribbean general manager Javier Arredondo
