Holland America Line will complete the restart of its fleet on June 12 with Westerdam returning to service from Seattle.
The schedule was confirmed as the line brought Zaandam back into operation on Thursday from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
Zaandam departed on a nine-day Atlantic Coast cruise to Montreal. The ship will then sail between Canada and New England until October after a two year absence due to the pandemic.
The ship will also be deployed on a 35-day ‘Voyage of the Vikings’ from Boston on July 9 that retraces the routes of past explorers with ports in Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway and the Netherlands.
A 71-day cruise to Africa from Fort Lauderdale is then scheduled for October 10 before a series of Panama Canal transits to San Diego.
HAL president Gus Antorcha said: “With Zaandam’s re-entry into service, we are thrilled to not only have nearly our full fleet back, but also to return Canada and New England after two years away from this beautiful cruising destination.
“Zaandam has some special cruises coming up, and we’re glad to have her back in service with an amazing team ready to give our guests an exceptional cruise experience.”
