Incredible Journeys and Intrepid hold bake sale for Morocco

Incredible Journeys and Intrepid Travel have held a bake sale to help Morocco after the country’s catastrophic earthquake.

The fundraiser, which generated £130, took place in dnata Travel Group UK’s head office in Leyland on October 18.

The money will go towards The Intrepid Foundation’s long-term partner Education For All, whose facilities were badly damaged by the 6.8 magnitude earthquake.

Education for All provides education for girls between 11 and 18 in the High Atlas Mountains.

Joanna Reeve, Intrepid’s head of business development and partnerships, said: “Incredible Journeys are an important partner for Intrepid and it’s great to see us working together to
help get Education for All back up and running.”

The bake sale will help fund the rebuilding of boarding houses, as well as helping to provide emergency relief including food, medicine and water.

Education For All, which provides a free service, gives three meals a day, hot showers, beds, computer access and study support through an international volunteer programme.

Almost everything in the boarding houses needs to be replaced, including furniture, computers, and kitchenware.

Incredible Journeys’ head of specialist product, Mark Henderson, said: “The work and fundraising The Intrepid Foundation has already done to raise money and awareness for Morocco is outstanding.

“Intrepid is a key partner for our touring brand, Incredible Journeys, and we want to support them in any way we can.”

Incredible Journeys staff visited Education For All during an Intrepid fam trip in April
this year.
