Inspire Group reveals dual sustainability initiatives

Two new sustainable travel initiatives have been unveiled by Inspire Group.

A new website and booking platform allows customers to search and book sustainable holidays, while a dedicated travel gift card can be used to fund sustainable travel.

The website features up to 5,000 hotels across major holiday destinations together with many UK-based tour operators offering sustainable holidays, including Intrepid and G Adventures.

Properties featured on the site adhere to policies set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, and the tours available are proven to give back to the communities they serve.

The website also provides an option a carbon footprint offset option on any travel arrangements, as well as giving hints and tips on how to travel more sustainably.

Companies who use the sustainable travel gift card to reward and recognise employees – or use it as a sales promotion tool – can be assured that the recipient can only use it against sustainable travel while contributing to the work that Sustainable Travel International does within local communities.

Inspire Group managing director Lisa Henning said: “Sustainability is on the top of everyone’s agenda currently, and we feel it’s absolutely vital that we can provide our customers with sustainable holiday options.

“We have invested into developing this website where the only content that’s featured is endorsed by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, and a rigorous process has been gone through to ensure that all the products on the website are eco-friendly.

“Creating this website has been our first major step in this important area, but over time we intend to further develop it with an abundance of content, testimonials and stories on how we can all be more eco-environmentally aware when travelling.”

She added: “The Inspire Sustainable Travel Gift Card is a great way for companies to support their own environmental strategies, in so much that they know that their employees can only use them against sustainable travel options.”
