Amadeus River Cruises adds new ship and itinerary for 2023

A new ship and itinerary on the Saar and Moselle rivers feature as part of a 2023 programme released by Amadeus River Cruises.

The company is offering a 15% early booking discount until November 30, with prices starting at £988 per person for an eight-day Treasures of Burgundy & Provence sailing from Lyon.

Environmentally-friendly, 160-passenger Amadeus Riva is due to be launched next May to sail on the Danube and the Rhine as well as on the Dutch and Belgian waterways.

The vessel will feature 12 suites with balconies and 68 exterior cabins across three decks.

Amadeus Riva will incorporate the very latest technology in sustainable travel with a state-of-the-art ship’s engine enabling highly efficient energy management but also significantly reducing CO2 emissions, according to the company which currently runs 14 vessels.

The ship’s newly developed air filtration system with two-stage purification is designed to remove aerosols potentially containing virus particles from interior spaces.

A new eight-day cruise from Cologne travels up the Rhine to its largest tributary, the Moselle River, and along the winding course of the Saar, a tributary of the Moselle.

The itinerary by MS Amadeus Brilliant departs on May 18 and  August 19 leading in at £1,292pp.

UK account manager Jenny Wade said: “With one of the most modern fleets in the five-star segment combined with some wonderful itineraries and unparalleled personal service on board, our guests can be assured of a truly unforgettable river cruise experience.

“Guests can also take advantage of some recent additions to our programme including Rail & Sail, which enables them travel to their chosen river cruise straight from their home town train station to the ship, as well as tailor-made river cruising which allows them to enhance their cruise with a selection of pre- and post-cruise stays.”
