The relaxation of the vaccine mandate imposed during the pandemic was confirmed on May 2 and the rule is removed from today(May 11).

Ocean Florida co-founder ands co-chief executive Harry Hastings said: “Since the announcement on the second of May that the US would no longer require proof of Covid vaccination for arrivals from the UK, we have witnessed a 32% increase in enquires.

“This has been particularly noticeable across our villa product, especially the larger homes we offer.”

He added: ”We have seen that the vaccine mandate has had a much more significant impact on multi-generational travel or larger groups who are more likely to stay in a villa, which have been restricted by the mandate that the entire party must be vaccinated.

“Prior to this announcement, groups of more than ten looking for a Florida villa packages accounted for one in five enquiries, since the second of May, it has accounted for one in three.

“Today’s removal of the final restrictions being lifted is incredibly welcome after a turbulent few years for the travel industry.”
