A new European river ship is into be introduced by Saga next summer.
The 182-passenger Spirit of the Moselle is due to join the fleet from July 2025.
The vessel will mainly cruise along the Main in Germany, including Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Bamberg and the Rhine Gorge.
Spirit of the Moselle will be similar to sister ships Spirit of the Rhine, launched in 2021, and Spirit of the Danube, which entered service the following year.
The ship will have 95 cabins, including 73 with a French balconies.
The official start of construction of Spirit of the Moselle began in January, with a traditional keel laying ceremony taking place at Vahali shipyard in Serbia.
Director of river product, Sergej Tocili, said: “We’ve reached another great milestone in our river cruise collection. Spirit of the Rhine and Spirit of the Danube have proven to be a great success with our guests, and I expect Spirit of Moselle will continue the same high quality river cruising while allowing us to explore a wider range of rivers.”
Saga Cruise chief executive Nigel Blanks added: “The team and I are thrilled to see this exciting next step in our growing river cruise offering. I’m looking forward to welcoming guests onboard for the first time in 2025 to enjoy the levels of service, value and exceptional experiences our guests have come to expect from Saga.”
