Seabourn is to deploy Seabourn Odyssey in the Caribbean this summer as it continues its resumption plans.
Seven-day sailings out of Barbados will be offered on the ship from July 18.
Odyssey is set to resume a fortnight after Ovation, which will be the luxury line’s first ship to restart sailings when it is deployed in Greece.
Round-trip cruises will call at ports including Antigua; British Virgin Islands; Dominica; Grenada; St Lucia; St Maarten; and St Kitts.
The Caribbean programme went on sale on Wednesday (April 21), however the line said it would finalise details, including what land experiences were available, “in the coming weeks”. All sailings will include a sea day.
A 14-day option, which combines the two seven-day sailings between Windward Islands and Leeward Islands, is also available.
Seabourn president Josh Leibowitz paid tribute to the work between the Barbados government and the line ahead of the programme being announced.
The government’s minister of tourism and international transport, Lisa Cummins, said: “We look forward to welcoming Seabourn back to our shores and are pleased with the outlook for the restart of the cruise industry.
“Safe travel is our priority and placing vaccinations and other key public health travel protocols at the core of our cruise industry restart will not only restore traveller confidence, but also offer comfort to visitors and Barbadians alike.”
As with Seabourn Ovation’s Greece sailings, starting on July 3, the Caribbean voyages are only open to passengers who are “fully vaccinated” against Covid-19 – meaning they have had both doses atleast 14 days prior to sailing. Proof will be required.
