St Kitts and Nevis step up trade activity with roadshow

A travel trade roadshow is being stage by St Kitts and Nevis this month as the Caribbean destinations ramp up post-pandemic promotional activity.

The second UK trade engagement event held by St Kitts Tourism Authority and Nevis Tourism Authority takes place on November 21-25.

Agents and operators will be invited to hosted dinners in Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey.

A trade fam trip will then be held on November 26-30  where agents will spend two nights on each island.

St Kitts Tourism Authority plans to bring a further 40 agents to the island on five further trips in 2023 as part of celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of St Kitts and Nevis’ independence.

St Kitts Tourism Authority chief executive Ellison Thompson said: “We really believe in the power of travel agents to influence and inspire customer decision-making.

“As one of the smaller Caribbean islands, the trade is vitally important to St Kitts in driving tourism.

“This is why we are investing heavily in UK trade events and roadshows, training, and especially fam visits, so that agents and operators can experience the destination first hand and fully immerse themselves in St Kitts’ charm, culture, cuisine, history and heritage.”

Devon Liburd, chief executive of of the Nevis Tourism Authority, added: “The work our UK trade partners are doing cannot be underestimated when it comes to inspiring holidaymakers in their decision making. That is why these roadshows are vitally important and a key event in our diary this year.

“Our continued investment with UK trade partners though events, training and fams establishes Nevis as an island for adventure, foodies, wellness, romance and proper rest and relaxation.

“We’re delighted to join forces with St Kitts once again to ensure our UK trade partners are able to shout as loudly as possible on behalf of our small but mighty island.”
