Tobago Tourism has been announced as the headline destination partner for the Caribbean Showcase trade event in London next Wednesday (September 21).
Destinations and accommodation providers from more than 20 countries across the region have signed up for the second edition of the Caribbean Showcase.
The event will bring together a diverse mix of suppliers who will meet tour operators, travel agents and airlines throughout a day of pre-scheduled meetings, networking and a hosted dinner. Soca artist Benjai from Tobago will also appear at the event.
It will be held at the Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s hotel in Godliman Street, London, and features Travel Weekly as media partner.
Colin Pegler, chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) Chapter UK & Europe, said: “After a successful first edition, it is evident that the Caribbean Showcase is becoming an essential event for the UK travel industry.
“The destinations and hotels that suppliers represent have seen a strong recovery this year, and the showcase will allow us to engage with key buyers to keep increasing business to the Caribbean in 2023 and beyond.”
Nadine Rankin, UK representative of the Tobago Tourism Agency, added: “We’re really looking forward to meeting the buyers at Caribbean Showcase to update them on developments in Tobago, in particular the new Tobago Carnival (October 28-30), which will be a fantastic opportunity for tourists to join the celebrations.
“This, along with the Blue Food Festival, also in October, will be a fantastic display of culture and tradition and a chance to experience Caribbean authenticity at its best.”
Florian Valmy-Devillers, business development director at the CTO Chapter, highlighted the importance of the UK as a source market for the Caribbean – and how the showcase is part of the chapter’s mission to support the region’s recovery and growth.
“The emergence of new routes and increasing airlift are testimonials to the diversification of our tourism product amidst the growing demand,” he said.
