Wonder of the Seas arrives in Spain for European debut

Royal Caribbean International’s latest megaship Wonder of the Seas has arrived in Barcelona ahead of its summer season.

The fifth Oasis Class vessel will run seven-night sailings from the Spanish city and the port for Rome from May 8.

Destinations include Florence, Naples, Capri, Provence and Malaga.

The western Mediterranean sailings will continue until October as the line deploys eight ships in Europe including Odyssey of the Seas making its debut in the region.

Wonder of the Seas will return to the US in November to sail from its new year-round home in Port Canaveral in Florida, to the Caribbean and Bahamas, including the line’s Perfect Day at CocoCay private island.

A new, eighth neighbourhood is introduced on the ship for Royal Suite Class passengers, including a private sun deck with a plunge pool and bar.

Other features include 40-plus restaurants, bars and lounges; and four ‘stages’ – air, ice, water and theatre – including more than 100 performers and technicians.
