Agents urged to capitalise on Scenic ‘Animals of the Arctic’ TV feature

Scenic is urging agents to capitalise on the luxury line being featured on ITV’s This Morning show.

The programme’s resident vet Dr Scott Miller has filmed a three-part ‘Animals of the Arctic’ series on board Scenic Eclipse, documenting the wildlife living in the polar region.

The first episode was broadcast this week, with further segments to be screened on November 6 and 13.

Scenic has created online and print marketing materials for the trade, all featuring the ‘As seen of This Morning’ message. This includes flyers, window posters featuring Arctic and Antarctic itineraries, website banners, social tiles and a wide range of Arctic images and video content.

Agents also have the opportunity to earn double rewards points on every Arctic booking during November – worth £40 per booking.

Those making bookings this month will also be entered into a draw to win a branded Helly Hansen crew jacket.

A weekly social media competition for agents will give away five Scenic Eclipse backpacks containing branded goodies.

Questions will be based on information contained in each Animals of the Arctic episode.

Scenic Group general manager, sales and marketing, Nichola Absalom, said: “Being featured on This Morningis a great coup for us, as we know how much the show drives enquiries.

“The Animals of the Arctic segments do a wonderful job of illustrating how rich and diverse the wildlife is there. Dr Miller explored the Northwest Passage with us and was able to tick off a whole host of different species from his must-see bucket list – musk ox, polar bears, different types of whales and seals, Arctic foxes and untold types of seabirds all feature in the films.

“We’d urge agents to brush up on their Scenic knowledge and capitalise on the opportunities this great publicity provides.

“Our national key accounts manager Wendi Hardy will host a dedicated training webinar for polar ocean voyages on 3 November and everybody is welcome.”

Dr Miller added: “The Animals of the Arctic series set out from the beginning to highlight the incredible ecosystem of the region, and what a treat the trip on Scenic Eclipse turned out to be. I very much hope viewers get a sense of the untamed majestic of the region.

“It’s hard to explain just how rich and diverse the wildlife there is until you see it. You can have a day where things seem quiet, then suddenly the air is filled with thousands of different seabirds, or you’re seeing giant humpback whales breaching the water.

“I especially liked the way exploration cruising allows you to have a low impact experience and yet see so much up close.”
