Barrhead eyes growth as details of new flagship store revealed

Barrhead Travel has confirmed that the location of its new Glasgow city centre flagship store will be in Gordon Street.

News about the store was first revealed at the Scottish-based agency’s annual conference in Trump Turnberry hotel in Ayrshire last month.

Gordon Street is one of Glasgow’s highest footfall areas because of its location which links Glasgow Central Station to the well-known shopping district of Buchanan Street.

The move follows the relocation of the group’s HQ to nearby Libertas House in St Vincent Place.

The new store will be split across two levels – with an experience-led retail space on the ground floor and the first floor becoming a dedicated hub for its specialist sales divisions. Private appointment space for clients looking for in-depth consultations will be available, thanks to the flexible layout.

More than 35 travel specialists will be based in Gordon Street, with new long-haul and cruise roles expected to be created thanks to growing demand.

The group also expects to add further positions for its new Touring & Adventure division.
