Barrhead Travel has opened two high street retail agencies, in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and Plymouth in Devon.
The additions bring Barrhead Travel’s store count to 47, with more than 85 outlets across the wider business group.
The agency chain said some staff had worked together previously at Thomas Cook, and all of them have been working together remotely ahead of the openings.
Led by manager Claire Ives with a team of three, the Plymouth store was the first to open on Saturday (September 11).
Barrhead Travel Halifax opened on Monday (September 13), with store manager Hannah Dupuy and her team of four.
Ives said: “The team and I are so happy to be working together again, greeting our local customers face-to-face.”
Dupuy added: “Our customers have expressed great anticipation for our store opening; it is a pleasure to now be able to give them a base to drop by for that human reassurance that goes a long way.”
Jacqueline Dobson, Barrhead Travel president, said: “Our teams in both locations are so excited to reunite with each other and with their local customers.
“We believe the implementation of our team’s personal service in each area will play a part in regaining consumer confidence in the communities they reside in, as well as bringing greater footfall to their local high street.”
