Barrhead Travel staff have rallied to raise funds and collect supplies to support local charities providing aid to Ukraine and those seeking refuge.
Employees across the travel agency chain’s 85-shop retail network have started initiatives including fundraising and collection points at shops.
Supplies and funding will be sent to charities responding to the humanitarian crisis in the region.
In Glasgow, head of sales support Nichola O’Brien, co-ordinated drop-off points for provisions and an employee fundraiser to support efforts organised by local Monklands Hospital.
Almost £1,000 was raised to go towards purchasing priority supplies to be shipped to Poland and Ukraine’s surrounding countries.
Stores including East Kilbride, Clydebank (pictured), Cameron Toll, and Cumbernauld set up collection points to take donations such as clothing and non-perishable items for local aid efforts.
Jacqueline Dobson, president of Barrhead Travel, said: “I am incredibly proud of our team at Barrhead Travel. The Ukraine crisis is of paramount concern to all of us and it is only right to do what we can, however small, to reach the people most in need right now.
“There are numerous local initiatives happening all across the country which our teams are continuing to champion.
“We know our people and our customers feel strongly about providing support to those impacted by this harrowing conflict and we pledge our commitment to supporting any industry-driven initiatives over the coming months.”
