Celebrity Cruises unveils plan to educate new agents about line

Celebrity Cruises is launching an online educational programme to help new agents who want to sell the line’s products.

In partnership with Travel Weekly, the line will look to “entice” trade newcomers and give them confidence to make cruise bookings through the programme which has been developed following trade surveys carried out last year.

UK and Ireland sales director Claire Stirrup said the unnamed programme would feature training, tool kits and ship visit opportunities.

The programme, which will be housed within the line’s trade portal Celebrity Central, will launch in early spring, Stirrup added.

She said: “There’s been a lot of movement in the holiday industry. Although we’ve not got a definitive number of new agents, trade partners across the Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland are telling us they’ve got new starters.”

Stirrup (pictured) confirmed a minimum of 10 places can be won through a competition to join Celebrity Cruises’ fam trip solely for new agents.

“If you’re new and on a cruise ship, you will need to know different information to what more experienced agents need to know,” she explained.

EMEA vice-president and managing director Jo Rzymowska said: “There are so many new starters in retail, homeworking firms and contact centres.

“It’s important that we do not assume that everyone has the same amount of knowledge.”

To access the programme, agents will be required to sign up to Celebrity Rewards in Celebrity Central.
