Places are still available for agents to join Cruise Line International Association’s Global Virtual River Cruise Showcase (March 3-4).
Operators and experts will join the online event to share their knowledge and the latest news about the river cruise sector.
Taking place across two three-hour sessions, the showcase will consider the future for river cruises and product launches.
Those taking part include Ellen Bettridge, president and chief executive at Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, and Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways.
There will be 16 cruise lines providing ‘bite-size brand updates’, and destination panel discussions will take place about river cruising in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Andy Harmer, Clia’s UK and Ireland director, said: “[The event’s] focus is to inspire the trade by giving them real-life experiences, ideas on future trends and an appetite to learn more.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to hear first-hand why river cruising is such a wonderful way to see the world.
“By attending, agents will be ideally placed to offer insight that customers are looking for as demand continues to grow.”
Furthermore, Clia is launching the ‘RiverView Programme’, which aims to create a global river cruise community from across the sector.
Training resources, learning material, events and networking opportunities will help travel professionals who want to specialise in this area.
