The Egyptian Tourism Authority is offering agents the chance to win prizes to promote the launch of a new e-learning programme.
The online course on the Egypt Specialist trade site has eight interactive modules and an agency resources section featuring a photo and video library, downloadable brochures and other sales material.
It aims to inspire frontline travel agent and tour operator staff to become ‘Egypt Specialists’ by showcasing the Egypt’s tourism attractions, ranging from famous historic monuments and Nile cruises to desert adventures, beaches and reef diving.
Everyone completing the programme, created with Equator Global, will receive an official personalised certificate of achievement from the Egyptian Tourism Authority.
For the next two months, those passing the course will be entered into a monthly draw, with five winners each month receiving a prize goody bag containing Egyptian souvenirs.
A spokesman for the Egyptian Tourism Authority in London said feedback from partners about sales is “very positive”, especially for Red Sea destinations.
The authority also works with tour operators on fam trips for travel agents and joint marketing campaigns.
