Flight Centre appoints product leader for leisure business

Flight Centre has appointed Elaine Learmonth as its new product leader for its leisure business.

She will be responsible for developing the UK product strategy to “align with the business’s growth plans”, with a focus on increasing land, cruising and tour sales.

Learmonth will report into Flight Centre general manager UK Lucy Clifton and global head of merchandising and pricing Jason Hartley.

She joins from tour specialist Exodus Travel, where her most recent role was senior product manager for Africa and the Americas.

Learmonth has also held roles at Tui and Unforgettable Travel Company, and has worked for tailor-made safari trip specialists in Cape Town, South Africa, Uyaphi.com, Livingstone Safaris and Safari Trails.

Clifton said: “Appointing Elaine, with her wealth of experience and extensive knowledge of the industry, was a no brainer for us.

“As we can continue to offer tailormade long-haul travel experiences, having someone who knows the product range inside out is vital and Elaine does just that. We’re looking forward to working closely with her on our growth strategy.”

Learmonth added: “Joining a leading global travel retailer like Flight Centre has always been an ambition of mine and I’m excited to be joining at such a pivotal time for the business.

“I’m looking forward to taking on a fresh challenge and getting truly under the skin of the brand.”
