Bookings made by Gloucester travel agency KTz Travel have been taken on by the Co-op Travel as the business is no longer part of the Co-op Travel Consortium.
KTz Travel – founded by Katie Hamlin – posted on its Facebook page on Thursday (March 14) to tell customers that it is no longer trading under the Abta number of the consortium which is part of The Midcounties Co-operative.
The post said KTz Travel will not be able to deal with bookings and tells customers to ask the Your Co-op Travel branch in Gloucester about payments, tickets and other queries.
The branches are just over a mile apart, with KTz Travel premises on Bristol Road and the Your Co-op Travel store in Eastgate Shopping Centre.
The KTz Travel statement continued to say the agency will be operating again when it has a new Abta number.
A statement from the Co-op Travel Consortium said: “KTz Travel is no longer part of the Co-op Travel Consortium but we wish the team at KTz well for the future.
“All previous bookings made through KTz travel are protected and we will be contacting all of these customers in the coming days to support them with their bookings.
“Our priority at Co-op Travel is, and always will be, protecting our customers and we will continue to support all customers affected either via our telephone agents or our Co-op Travel store in Gloucester.”
KTz Travel joined the consortium in 2016 after Katie Hamlin started the business that year.
Travel Weekly has contacted KTz Travel for comment.
According to the agency’s Facebook page (pictured), it sold city breaks, luxury beach holidays including Sandals and Beaches, cruises, tours, UK trips and weddings and honeymoons.
