Gray Dawes targets £300m turnover under new leadership team

A new executive leadership team is being put in place by Gray Dawes Group to drive its various businesses into new markets and boost revenues.

The group, which includes TMC Gray Dawes Travel, is targeting organic growth across all areas of its business with a target of achieving turnover of £300 million within two years and is “always open to acquire”.

Gray Dawes Travel has offices in London, Colchester, Manchester and Leamington Spa.

The group also comprises specialist divisions for MICE (Gray Dawes Events), leisure (Gray Dawes Holidays) and consulting (Gray Dawes Consulting).

As part of the shake-up under chief executive Suzanna Horner, Warren Dix, formerly head of global sales at Reed & Mackay Australia, joins as chief commercial officer.

This comes as former CCO David Bishop assumes the newly-created role of chief operations officer.

They will also work together on developing Gray Dawes’ global proposition along with other tasks.

The group’s marketing, events and leisure businesses will report directly to Bishop.

The changes from April 1 will see finance director Richard Allardice promoted to chief finance officer and Sophie Taylor as chief technology officer.

Horner, who reports the Inchcape Family Estates board, the independent owners of Gray Dawes, said: “Through strong management, belief in our people, innovative technology and outstanding customer service, Gray Dawes has weathered the pandemic storm of the last two years better than most.

“As we now start to come out of that storm, we’re fantastically placed, both financially and from a skills perspective, to really drive our recovery while developing all parts of the business and new ventures.

“To achieve that, we need a dynamic, passionate and experienced team to lead from the front and that’s exactly what we have in our new executive leadership team.”

Fergus Glenapp, Gray Dawes Group chairman and member of the company’s owners, the Inchcape family, added: “I’m delighted we’re able to recognise and reward both existing Gray Dawes talent and welcome new skills into the executive leadership team.

“With Suzanne at the helm, backed by her extraordinary leadership team and dedicated staff throughout the business, we look forward to supporting the remarkable and continued growth of this fantastic company.”
