Senior managers at Hays Travel North West have returned to the shop floor for this year’s peak selling period, with agents challenged to ‘Beat the Boss’ in sales.
Simone Murphy, regional manager for north Wales and Merseyside, Toni Smith, regional manager for Manchester and Cheshire and Ruth Ward, retail operations manager got back into uniform and took up their positions at the branches in Oldham, Wrexham and Connah’s Quay.
Smith got off the mark by making a Thailand booking for 2023; Murphy bagged a Turkey bookings and Ward a twin-centre holiday to Florida.
Smith said: “It was great fun to be back in the shops, particularly on a busy peaks Saturday, I was unsure if I still had the skills, but it all came back very quickly and I was straight back in the swing of things and back selling and looking after our wonderful customers”
Hays North West is a franchise partner of Hays Travel and operates 44 stores across the north west of England and north Wales.
Managing director Don Bircham reported “strong” sales since the turn f the year. He said: “We are benchmarking against a very strong January 2020 and although it was a slow start momentum has been really building over the past week with Saturday being the busiest trading day so far.”
