New homeworking firm eyes rapid expansion

A new homeworking group for established agents who “want a bit more freedom” is hoping for a rapid expansion.

Travelsafe, a member of Protected Trust Services (PTS), wants to recruit agents with mixed experience who want to “run their travel business with simplicity and autonomy”.

The firm, which launched earlier this month, has already taken on six agents but hopes to sign up 50 by 2023.

New members can use Travelsafe’s Atol and Iata licences and receive a two-hour business consultation to help answer questions, identify growth opportunities and “maximise profits”.

Membership fees cover 24/7 support for both agents and customers, a technology suite, “competitive” commercial terms and access to the Travelsafe mobile app.

Agents must pay £49 per month and will receive commissions of up to 90%.

Business updates, commercial agreements, supplier account information, booking management, payments will be made through the app.

Managing director Brett Gerrett (pictured) said: “We are a business created by agents, for agents. Our team all have significant industry experience.

“We believe in giving travel professionals the freedom to run and operate their own businesses while providing solid financial protection and business support.”

He added: “Many travel professionals have long established businesses but seek a more informal and autonomous way of working.”

Gerrett, who previously worked in Sunvil Holidays’ operations team for more than three years, insisted that the company was speaking agents from across the industry.

“We’re aiming for the Travelsafe badge to symbolise trust like the Abta logo,” he said. “PTS has a logo but does not have travel in it.”

Mark Sutton, Protected Trust Services managing director, said: “PTS is thrilled to welcome Travelsafe as a member.

“Travelsafe is a forward thinking and dynamic solution entering the homeworking market and the Travelsafe team echo PTS’ beliefs – travel agents should be offered choice and modernised solutions.

“We are excited to support Brett and the Travelsafe Team. We are positive that Travelsafe will be an incredibly popular option in the travel homeworking market.”
