Travel agents who attended a recent showcase of P&O Cruises’s new ship Arvia have hailed the range of features on the vessel, which they believe will appeal to a younger audience.
Arvia features the line’s first escape room, called Mission Control, a rum distillery, numerous shopping districts and new wellness suites.
Agents including The Travel Village Group managing director John Warr, Iglu senior vice-president of global supply Simone Clark and Fred Olsen Travel head of commercial Paul Hardwick took a tour of the 5,200-passenger ship at the beginning of the month.

Warr said the Blackpool agency was receiving enquiries about Arvia from customers in their 20s, and added: “There’s no reason why it shouldn’t attract a younger audience – it is stunning.”
Hardwick agreed, saying: “The ship will appeal to younger cruisers because of the Altitude Skywalk, four-screen cinema and the 6th Street Diner, which will suit families perfectly.”
Clark said she felt there was a “warmer decor” on Arvia compared with Iona, adding: “The ship suits all ages.”
Arvia, which launched last month, is currently repositioning to the Caribbean where it will be based until mid-March.
The ship will offer a mix of seven and 14-night itineraries from Antigua and Barbados during its winter season.
