UK stars from the world of sport and exploration will join two themed cruises on P&O Cruises’ Ventura next year.
The ship will operate both ‘P&O Cruises Presents: Sail with the stars’ sailings in September 2023.
Broadcasting trio Sue Barker, Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell, who have all played top-level international sport, will join the seven-night Spain and Portugal voyage departing on September 2, 2023.
Barker won Junior Wimbledon before taking home the French Open aged 19 and later fronted BBC’s coverage of Wimbledon from 1993 until her retirement in 2022.
Tufnell is a former England international cricketer who has won ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.
Ex-rugby pro Dawson appeared 77 times for England and was selected three times to tour with the British and Irish Lions.
The three became familiar figures during their time together on BBC’s Question of Sport programme.
Prices for the round-trip cruise with calls to Vigo, Spain; Lisbon, Leixoes, both Portugal, and Cherbourg, France, start from £629.
Adventurer and TV presenter Ben Fogle, travel journalist Simon Calder and marine biologist Monty Halls, best known for his BBC Great Escape series, will join the five-night Global Explorers sailing.
Ports of call for the round-trip sailing from Southampton are Le Havre and Rotterdam. Prices for the cruise on September 19 start from £549.
