ROL Cruise boss named Emerald Azzurra’s godmother

The boss of specialist agency ROL Cruise has been named godmother of Emerald Cruises’ first ocean-going vessel Emerald Azzurra.

Sarah Wikevand will become the third UK travel agent godmother in the Emerald Cruises’ fleet when she christens the 100-passenger ship in Venice on May 28.

Emerald Azzurra is currently sailing an eight-day Croatia in Depth itinerary after it entered service in March.

It will continue sailing the Adriatic and Mediterranean coastlines before moving to Doha, Qatar, in December 2022.

Rob Voss, chief operating officer of the Scenic Group which includes Scenic and Emerald Cruises, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be showcasing our commitment to supporting UK travel agents by having Sarah as our first Emerald Cruises superyacht’s godmother.

“She is a wonderful advocate for the cruising market and her dedication reflects our own commitment to growing this remarkable industry.”

Wikevand commented: “I have been working with the incredible Emerald Cruises team for over six years now and I am humbled to have been selected as godmother for the line’s first ocean-going superyacht Emerald Azzurra.

“It is an honour to work closely with the team on such a monumental milestone for Emerald Cruises.”

David Winterton, Emerald Cruises’ global director of brand and marketing, added: “We cannot wait to welcome Sarah onboard our stunning Emerald Azzurra in Venice next month.

“We value our trade partners highly and we’re thrilled that Sarah has graciously accepted to be godmother to Emerald Azzurra.

“Sarah is set to become the third UK travel agent godmother in our Emerald Cruises fleet and we’re honoured to continue this tradition showing our dedication to our partners.”
