Royal Caribbean hails ‘huge success’ of Scotland roadshow

Royal Caribbean has hailed the “huge success” of its Scotland roadshow, which saw it meet with more than 400 agents across a 600-mile radius.

The ‘Summer in Scotland’ showcase, which the line labelled its “biggest and boldest yet”, ran from August 27-30 with events in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, alongside shop visits and homeworker coffee mornings.

Royal Caribbean shared its latest news with agents, including its confirmed Scottish air charter beginning in May 2025 which will allow guests to fly directly from Glasgow to Bologna for the Greek Islands Itinerary on Explorer of the Seas.

Other updates included its “revolutionised” trade loyalty programme Upper Deck, which offers agents the chance to earn up to £500 for each booking, alongside changes to its Royal Genie sales tool, details of Allure of the Seas’ $130m refurbishment ahead of its arrival in Barcelona in 2025, as well as new ships joining the fleet, including second Icon-class ship Star of the Seas.

Agents also had the chance to enter a competition to win a seven-night Caribbean sailing on Wonder of the Seas from Port Canaveral, Orlando.

Aaron Langford, senior sales director for UK & Ireland at Royal Caribbean International, said: “I want to thank our Scottish travel partners for making this a huge success, I’m blown away by the support of our brand here in Scotland. It’s clear that there is a deep understanding and connection with our brand, given the attendance rates being near to 100% for all four events and the consistent positive feedback I received along the way.”

He added the team was “already looking” at how to make the event “bigger and better” for next year.

The Royal Caribbean sales team will next head to Ireland on September 11 to continue its roadshow with agents in the north and south of the country.
