SPAA announces date for centenary dinner

The Scottish Passenger Agents Association (SPAA) has announced that its centenary dinner will take place at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow next month.

The travel agency association, which has 120 members and 92 associate members across the travel industry, is hosting the landmark event on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Edinburgh airport chief executive Gordon Dewar will be a guest speaker on the evening.

The SPAA’s speaker from outside the industry will be Metropolitan Police chief superintendent Raj Kohli, who played a key role in helping deliver the London Olympics.

SPAA secretary Janice Hogarth said: “In one of the most challenging times in the history of the travel industry we are thrilled to be able to celebrate 100 years of the SPAA, which was founded in 1921.

“We hope as many travel and supplier company representatives will be able to join us.

“We have a superb evening planned including pre dinner drinks sponsored by The Crowne Plaza, two excellent guest speakers, entertainment during the evening and a post dinner party including a silent disco, sponsored by [trade-only tour operator] Gold Medal.”

Tickets for the event are available, from £110 (plus VAT).
