Travel Counsellors raised £10,000 for Reuben’s Retreat with a series of activities taking place on a single day last month.
Home working agents and support team staff came completed various challenges, including a 23-mile walk from Travel Counsellors’ support centre in Manchester to Reuben’s Retreat in Glossop, Derbyshire, and a 23-mile coastal route trek in South Wales.
Others cycled the eight-mile Cragg Challenge in Yorkshire, known for being the longest continuous ascent in England; abseiled down the Avon Gorge in Bristol; ran 23 laps around Carrow Road stadium in Norwich; and navigated around the BA i360 tower in Brighton.

Among the half-year activities, eight sky-dived for the charity, raising £6,000 collectively.
Reuben’s Retreat was formed in 2012 as a sanctuary for families with complexly poorly children and as a space to support families after the loss of a child.
One of the founders, Nicola Graham, named the charity after her son, who died aged 23 months within days of being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Travel Counsellors has been supporting Reubens Retreat since its inception, becoming its official charity partner five years ago and raising more than £250,000 over the period.
The annual Reuben’s Retreat ‘REUBall’ takes places this weekend, aiming to bring supporters and beneficiaries together to raise further funds and resources for the charity.
Director of engagement Karen Morris said: “An array of individual and group challenges were completed on 23 June by 50 TC business owners, support team colleagues, families and friends.
“Not only did we wish to recognise the date as being such a special number to the charity and mark our support so far this year, but the TC community has managed to raise £10,000 for the activities achieved on 23 June alone.
“We are really proud and humbled by the efforts of all individuals involved in raising vital money and awareness for the families and children the charity supports on a daily basis.”
The charity’s head of income and engagement Stacey Kirkpatrick added: “We so pleased with the efforts of the Travel Counsellors community to support Reuben’s Retreat, both with the wealth of challenges they completed on 23 June, and all of their support this year and more.
“From scaling mountains in individual challenges to TCs sponsoring local football teams with Reuben’s branding, to team visits and gifted hours where both TCs and support team colleagues give their time to support in the running of the Retreat.
“The pounds and pennies raised are essential for the families and children who access all of our initiatives, but they are also priceless in improving the lives of the people we aim to support.”
