Travel Counsellors has reported a rebound in corporate bookings, with sales in February at 92% of pre-pandemic levels.
Business travel sales across January and February combined stood at £18 million, representing 82% of sales made in the same period in 2019.
The company said 90% of corporate travel counsellors had made a new booking in the past week, bolstered by more than £5 million in sales for new clients.
The vast majority of bookings are short-term, with almost nine in 10 sales relating to February and March departures.
Kieran Hartwell, managing director of corporate travel, said: “It is hugely encouraging to see this surge in corporate bookings, similar to what we have also experienced in the leisure market.
“We are increasingly seeing small and medium sized enterprises looking for that human expertise on travelling in a post pandemic world and we’re delighted that they are coming to us for that trusted travel advice, as SMEs is one of our biggest sectors of expertise.”
Travel Counsellors currently has 300 agents specialising in business travel, with a further 1,600 covering both leisure and corporate bookings.
